Task Board

2015-01-10 11 56 38

An example of a Task Board that can be used to organise maths lessons.

With this structure each group has two sessions within a maths lesson:

Teaching session – with teacher

Practice session – follow up/consolidation from teaching session

Knowledge session – activity to consolidate knowledge

Game – could be board game/playing cards/computer/designed by children

Over two days they will experience each session. This can then repeat for the next two days, so that each group has eight sessions over the week.

This then ensures children experience learning based on both knowledge and strategy over the week.

The fifth day could be used for learning new games, or for Basic Fact Quizzes – look for these in the Glow site!
